Albany NY Real Estate: Albany NY Named one of top places in the country to buy a home!

Despite all the constant media hype the Albany market has remained strong and has thus far been immune from the huge price drops seen in other areas of the country. First time home buyers are driving the market. This weekend I had five offers on a new listing that resulted in the sale price well above the asking price of $159,900. Yet if you read the media report you would think vacancies and foreclosures abound in the Albany market. When the exit 12 chip plant impact is fully understood by our market I think current home buyers are going to be glad they purchased in 2009.
